Bharat Gaurav tourist train: The Ministry of Railways has introduced ‘Bharat Gaurav trains‘ to showcase India’s rich cultural heritage and iconic historical destinations to people in India and across the world. The journey undertaken on these trains are offered in the form of comprehensive tour packages wherein services like off-board travel and excursions by buses, stay at hotels, tour guides, meals, travel insurance etc are provided along with comfortable train journey and allied onboard services.
As per the ‘Bharat Gaurav Trains’ policy in November’ 2021, the service providers have full flexibility to decide themes and itineraries for operation of Bharat Gaurav tourist circuit trains. These trains may include tourist circuits of any part of the country including Rajasthan based on market demand, commercial viability, etc.
These trains originate from a particular station and run in a route having multiple tourist destinations and terminate at the same originating station.

According to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Bharat Gaurav trains have completed 590 trips, carrying 3,62,880 tourists to various destinations across the country as of November 30, 2025.
“As on 30.11.2025, a total 590 trips of Bharat Gaurav Trains carrying 3,62,880 tourists have been operated covering various tourist destinations across 24 states and Union Territories of India,” Vaishnaw said in a written statement in Rajya Sabha on December 12.
The Union Minister further stated that 22 service providers have registered with 11 zones of Indian Railways under the Bharat Gaurav train scheme since its inception.
“22 nos. of service providers have registered with 11 zones of Indian Railways under Bharat Gaurav Train (BGT) scheme since its inception. At present, 12 rakes are being operated by these service providers…,” he stated.
