35 students injured as school bus, returning from picnic, overturns in Jammu

Thirty-five students and their teachers were injured when their school bus hit a divider and turned turtle on the ring road near Sarore in Jammu late Saturday evening.

Officials said that the private school students and their teachers had gone for a picnic to Samba from Pargwal in Akhnoor. They were returning when the accident took place.

Poor visibility due to fog appears to have led to the accident, said locals, who were the first to reach the accident site and rush the injured to the hospital at Bishnah. Most of those injured are said to be stable.

Police and civil officials also rushed to the spot to aid in the relief operations.
