Who is Woodz? K-pop idol’s agency responds to Kim Sae Ron dating rumours, calls it a ‘private matter’
YouTuber Lee Jin Ho links Kim Sae Ron to soloist WOODZ. EDAM Entertainment responds with a vague statement as fans dig into coffee truck clues and old social media posts.

After YouTuber Lee Jin Ho claimed that both Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun were dating different people—dismissing the dating timeline presented by GaroSero—a third-generation K-pop idol’s name suddenly popped up. According to the YouTuber, who referred to him as singer ‘A’ and even linked him to Sae Ron’s DUI case, the Bloodhounds star was allegedly dating the singer between 2019 and 2022. After alleged evidence of coffee trucks being sent to filming sets and other details surfaced, online sleuths dug deeper and discovered a similar coffee cart that had been sent to solo artiste WOODZ during one of his music video shoots. The connections quickly started to look clearer, and as pressure mounted, WOODZ’s agency, EDAM Entertainment, issued a brief statement.

Woodz’s agency responds to Kim Sae Ron’s dating controversy
Earlier this week, Lee Jin Ho suggested that Kim Sae Ron’s breakup with WOODZ in 2022 may have contributed to her DUI incident. To support his claim that the two were actually dating, he pointed to their social media activity—liking each other’s posts, sharing pictures, and even how Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, appeared to be aware of the relationship, as they arranged coffee trucks for them. In response, EDAM Entertainment issued a brief statement on the rumours, choosing not to confirm anything, which only fuelled further confusion among fans. The company stated: “Since it is a private matter, we cannot verify it.”
WOODZ is currently serving his mandatory military service.
Who is Woodz?
WOODZ, whose real name is Jo Seung Youn, is a third-generation K-pop idol, same as BTS, EXO, SEVENTEEN, and GOT7. He debuted with the Chinese-Korean boy group called UNIQ. Later in 2019, he participated in an Mnet survival show, came fifth, and shot to national fame after debuting as a member of the project group X1. After the group disbanded, he kicked off his solo career. As of 2025, WOODZ has established himself as a successful Korean soloist. He launched his first mini album, named Equal, in 2020. Since then, he has released plenty of tracks, including “Love Me Harder”, “Hijack”, and “I Hate You”, among more. In January 2024, he enlisted in South Korea’s military and is currently serving as a sergeant. He will be discharged on July 21, 2025.
This is not the first time a celebrity has been dragged into the Kim Sae Ron–Kim Soo Hyun controversy. Earlier, big names like IU, Park Seo Joon, Sulli, and BTS were also pulled in. Critics have been calling out the controversial YouTuber for tarnishing the late actor’s name by dragging in people and links that don’t hold anymore. Some suspect he is defending Soo Hyun as public opinion turns against the actor, though Jin Ho had earlier said that he does not support him and that if the law proves him wrong, he will take responsibility for the mistake. Despite being hit with a defamation lawsuit by Kim Sae Ron’s family, Jin Ho has continued to release videos on the matter.
