It’s been almost three years since Suzhal: The Vortex, one of the most popular Tamil web-series, began streaming on Prime Video. Having received critical acclaim and becoming one of the most appreciated Tamil series, the makers have announced the premiere of the second season. The much-anticipated follow-up to Suzhal will begin streaming on February 28.
Just like the first part, the second part too will be headlined by Aishwarya Rajesh and Kathir, reprising their roles of Nandini and Sakkarai. The series is created by the director duo of Pushkar and Gayathri. While Bramma, who helmed four episodes in the first season, returns for the second, Kirumi director Anucharan M is replaced by Sarjun KM.

Apart from Kathir and Aishwarya, the series also features an impressive ensemble, including actors like Lal, Gouri Kishan, Saravanan, Monisha Blessy, Samyuktha Vishwarnathan, Rini, Nikhila Shankar, and Ashwini Nambiar. There are two high-profile cameos by Manjima Mohan and Chandran.
The sequel to Suzhal is a welcome addition to the Tamil web-series space where, more often than not, the first season ends in a cliffhanger, but there is no resolution per se to it because they don’t get commissioned for a second season. With speculations of Vadandhi 2 also doing the rounds, it might just seem like a much-needed shot in the arm for the Tamil web series space.
