Netflix's Bird Box trailer: Sandra Bullock's film is based on Josh Malerman's post-apocalyptic novel Bird Box, which highlights the life of a young mother who desperately attempts to get her two children to safety following a threat from unknown monsters.

The trailer of Sandra Bullock’s Netflix movie Bird Box is out. The film is based on Josh Malerman’s post-apocalyptic novel Bird Box, the plot of which highlights the life of a young mother who desperately attempts to get her two children to safety following a threat from unknown monsters. What’s scarier? Well, it is the fact that anyone who sees the monsters immediately loses their mind and kills themselves, more often than not in a gruesome manner. Therefore, the survivors safeguard themselves by wearing blindfolds.

This spooky novel has been adapted into a film by Netflix and going by its compelling trailer, it looks very interesting, mysterious, explosive and evokes sheer curiosity.

The synopsis of Bird Box reads, “When a mysterious force decimates the world’s population, only one thing is certain: if you see it, you take your life. Facing the unknown, Malorie (played by Sandra Bullock), a mother trying to face the threat, finds love, hope and a new beginning only for it to unravel. Now she must flee with her two children down a treacherous river to the one place left that may offer sanctuary. To survive, they’ll have to undertake the perilous two-day journey blindfolded, which restricts their movement, and opens door to all kinds of other dangers.”

Bullock is joined in the cast by Trevante Rhodes, Jacki Weaver, Rosa Salazar, Sarah Paulson and John Malkovich among many others.

Directed by Academy Award winning director Susanne Bier, and written by Eric Heisserer, the film is slated to release on Netflix and select theatres on December 21.
