Neena Gupta and the Panchayat gang is back, but there's a twist.

Fans of the TVF show Panchayat have been waiting for the day that the real pradhan of Phulera, played by Neena Gupta, steps up and takes the reins of being the panchayat head. In the latest sketch, the wish has been fulfilled as Pradhan Pati (Raghubir Yadav) and Sachiv ji (Jeetendra Kumar) are missing from the scene and Neena’s character decides to solve the village’s problems in her own way. While the members of audience will have to wait for the show’s next season, Team Panchayat is back with a brand new episodes in partnership with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
As part of the initiative, TVF produced special sketches focusing on critical themes such as women’s empowerment, own source revenue, and technology-driven growth.
The first of these sketches, Asli Pradhan Kaun? premiered on TVF’s official YouTube channel. This standalone video from the series had Neena coming into her own as the head of the local government and even suspending Chandan Roy’s character, who plays the assistant to sachiv, when she tries to play her for the fool.
The episode features Neena Gupta, Chandan Roy, and Faisal Malik. Post the success of the first video, TVF released its second sketch titled The Drive and the Dispute. This episode explores environmental sustainability and the role of technology in governance. In this story, Panchayat members Vikas and Prahlad attempt to promote afforestation efforts. This episode also features Banrakas (played by Durgesh Kumar), adding humour to the show playing the fan favourite character.
Speaking about the initiative, Vijay Koshy, President of TVF, shared, “At TVF, we believe in the power of storytelling to drive meaningful conversations. Our collaboration with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj allows us to bring important rural governance issues to the forefront in an engaging and relatable manner. We are especially excited as this marks one of our most prominent collaborations with the Government of India, and we see it as an opportunity to create impactful content that resonates with audiences nationwide. Through these sketches, we hope to inform and inspire audiences while staying true to our signature style of storytelling.”
Neena Gupta too shared her excitement in teaming up for the initiative and said, “It’s always a pleasure to be part of stories that have a purpose. Asli Pradhan Kaun? is not just another sketch—it is a reflection of real-life challenges faced by women in rural India. I am excited for audiences to see how beautifully this message has been woven into TVF’s signature storytelling.”
