First Frost

Still swiping left on this C-drama? Don’t. Bai Jingting and Zhang Ruonan have raised the bar high for the childhood sweethearts-to-lovers trope. It’s a mature, slow-burn romance packed with slice-of-life comfort and an unbreakable friendship. If you loved Sang Yan from Hidden Love, this spin-off drops you into a parallel world in Nanwu. Adapted from Zhu Yi’s novel of the same name, First Frost is now streaming on Youku and Netflix worldwide.

Plot- Wen Yifan never expected to cross paths with Sang Yan again. Destiny brings them face to face at a bar six years later. Once high school classmates, they both secretly harboured feelings for each other but drifted apart. Now, with an unexpected reunion threatening to bring back old feelings, they do what any two people trying to avoid the awkwardness would—pretend they don’t even know each other. But dodging the past isn’t that easy, especially when life throws them under the same roof. Sooner or later, they’ll have to face everything they’ve been avoiding.
