Kim Soo Hyun’s agency breaks silence on Sulli’s explicit scene allegations amid Kim Sae Ron row
As Kim Soo Hyun's controversy escalates, Sulli’s brother demands answers about her Real movie scenes, alleging she was pressured.

Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, has finally acknowledged the controversy surrounding Sulli, the popular K-pop idol who ended her life in 2019 after suffering years of criticism, cyberbullying, and mental abuse. As the actor’s dating scandal gained traction, Sulli’s brother, Choi Da Hee, was dropping cryptic posts on social media. Initially, these seemed directed at the Queen of Tears star, but he later dismissed the speculation as mere rumours. However, on Friday, he directly demanded clarification regarding Sulli’s explicit scenes in the 2017 film Real, specifically from co-star and lead actor Kim Soo Hyun, as well as Lee Sa Rang (real name: Lee Ro Be), who not only directed the film but also co-founded Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist.

Gold Medalist responds to accusations made by Sulli’s brother
Gold Medalist, who has yet to clarify the leaked KakaoTalk messages between Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron, where his “sexually suggestive” texts to the then-minor actor is under scrutiny, has now issued a new statement. The agency said they are “currently verifying the situation,” addressing the fresh allegations involving the late actor Sulli, specifically the claims that Kim Soo Hyun’s team pressured her into doing “explicit scenes.”
On March 28, Sulli’s brother released an official statement through Sports Kyunghyang, demanding clarification from the makers of the 2017 film Real on three key issues. He began by expressing his grief over Kim Sae Ron’s passing and mentioned how his own family has been suffering their loss for over six years. For that reason, he said, they couldn’t turn a blind eye to the Bloodhounds star’s death.

Sulli and Kim Soo Hyun co-starred in Real in 2017, at a time when the K-pop idol was stepping into acting. Her controversial scenes in the film sparked massive backlash, and while she faced the heat from fans, Soo Hyun and the production house remained silent. After her tragic passing in 2019, her brother revealed that during the funeral, they heard troubling claims, “specifically about the bedroom scene.”
“Because this matter was not widely known at the time, we also couldn’t verify the exact facts, but we learned that a body double did exist and was present on set, despite claims that the body double was ill and couldn’t attend,” he wrote. He further wrote that since the person involved is no longer here, Kim Soo Hyun and his brother should step forward and answer these questions:
Claim 1: Some staff members at the funeral claimed that the controversial scene in Real was not detailed in the script. “We would like to hear Kim Soo Hyun’s position on this,” he stated.
Claim 2: According to Choi Da Hee, a body double was present on set for the scene in question. However, it turns out the body double was not used, and Sulli was pressured to perform the scene herself.
Claim 3: When concerns about the scene first surfaced, many claimed that the body double wasn’t present that day due to illness. But Sulli’s brother stated that multiple testimonies from witnesses on set have since debunked that claim. “Is this true?” he asked.
“Beyond these three matters, we also heard various other accounts during the funeral. However, we are only asking these three questions based on facts. We urge you to respond actively.” Sulli was tragically found dead at her home in Seongnam, south of Seoul, on October 14, 2019. She was just 25 years old at the time, and her passing was later confirmed as suicide.
