Netflix’s favourite mother-daughter duo is back after three long years. Season 3 of Ginny & Georgia, starring Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry, will be released in June. The recently released trailer gives a glimpse into a rough turn for the once happy-go-groovy family as it opens with Georgia facing a criminal trial. Season 2 of the show ended on a cliffhanger where we saw the police cuffing Georgia’s hands on her wedding day on suspicion of murder. Season 3 continues the courtroom drama without leaving Howey’s sass behind. Meanwhile, Ginny (Antonia Gentry) is caught in the emotional crossfire. She’s a teenager just trying to survive high school. The show has always shown the Millers against the world, but for the first time, we are likely to see Ginny torn between loyalty and self-preservation.

Ginny & Georgia season 3 trailer

Ginny & Georgia season 3 trailer shows Ginny questioning herself: how much is too much, after knowing her whole life that something is very fishy with her mom. “I’ve always known my mom was different,” Ginny says. “But there’s more to her that people don’t see.” The trailer is filled with a lot of hard-hitting dialogue, showing the constant push-and-pull bond between the inseparable Ginny and Georgia. At one point, Georgia tries to pull her daughter back in emotionally. “We’re in this together, ride or die,” she tells Ginny. To which Ginny bluntly replies, “Where are we riding and why do we have to die?”

The show teases that Georgia will be sentenced to house arrest and that she may have poisoned two of her ex-husbands. Georgia tries to explain her position while pleading not guilty.  She says, “I’m not a bad person. But if you come face to face with bad, you become a little bad yourself.” This season, we probably won’t see the Millers jumping from town to town, but this time it’s more about survival.

“I’ve been defending my mom to everyone. I’m trying so hard to protect her, but I don’t even know if it’s the right thing to do,” Ginny says. “I don’t want my mom to go to prison.” And while Georgia’s fairytale wedding and dream to live a normal life have definitely crashed, the town of Wellsbury isn’t sure whether she’s a villain, a survivor, or both.

Speaking to Netflix’s Tudum, Howey said that Georgia, “is definitely pushed to her limits this season, and she has to survive scenarios she’s never had to survive before.” Meanwhile, Gentry’s character will take a more mature route. “We see a new side of Ginny where she’s really coming into her own, and accepting her decisions and standing by them, and making hard choices, but not being riddled with guilt or shame.”
