The makers of the much-awaited web series Citadel have released a new trailer. Helmed by the Russo Brothers, the series revolves around Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas). The high-stakes spy-drama will premiere on April 28 on Amazon Prime Video, with new episodes released weekly every Friday through May 26.

The brand-new trailer offers a sneak peek at the intense, high-octane action scenes featuring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra. Priyanka is seen in her best action avatar yet. Also, the latest promo teases how Mason and Nadia’s relationship blossoms once they discover about each other’s pasts.

The official synopsis of Citadel reads, “Eight years ago, Citadel fell. The independent global spy agency – tasked to uphold the safety and security of all people – was destroyed by operatives of Manticore, a powerful syndicate manipulating the world from the shadows. With Citadel’s fall, elite agents Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) had their memories wiped as they narrowly escaped with their lives. They’ve remained hidden ever since, building new lives under new identities, unaware of their pasts. Until one night, when Mason is tracked down by his former Citadel colleague, Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), who desperately needs his help to prevent Manticore from establishing a new world order. Mason seeks out his former partner, Nadia, and the two spies embark on a mission that takes them around the world in an effort to stop Manticore, all while contending with a relationship built on secrets, lies, and a dangerous-yet-undying love.”

Talking about the new series, co-director Anthony Russo said, “Joe and I had never heard a premise like this before. It’s a real credit to Jen Salke’s (Head of Amazon Studios) vision for what Amazon was capable of. That she would bring us an idea, basically a model for a show that was so ambitious, wide-ranging, and global in its nature. This is something that Joe and I’ve been working on for many years now.”

The 6-episode series, also starring Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville in pivotal roles, will stream on Amazon Prime Video in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
