Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s upcoming film Shaakuntalam is all set to hit theatres on April 14. Ahead of the release, Samantha’s Kushi co-star Vijay Deverakonda sent her best wishes. Taking to his Twitter handle, Vijay penned a heartwarming message for Samantha and even called her a ‘fighter’.

Vijay wrote, “Sammy, You are so full of love, always wanting to do right, spread cheer, still giving your everything for each shot in a film as if your entire career depends on it. The world might never know what a fighter you have been the past 1 year, always trying to put a smile and your best foot forward for your teams, films and fans even though your body needs a break, needs rest. I wish you all luck for #Shaakuntalam tomorrow. Your will and the love of millions will always keep you safe. It will all be well. Love always, Viay.”

Samantha Ruth Prabhu replied to Vijay Deverakonda’s tweet and wrote, “At a loss for words.. Really needed this. Thank you, my hero!!”

Shaakuntalam, based on Kalidasa’s Sanskrit play Abhijnanasakuntalam, is directed by Gunasekhar.

Talking about her character in the film, Samantha had previously said in an interview with Pinkvilla, “I connect to her and the character is very very me. She is strong, she is strong about her beliefs and she goes out for love she stays firm beliefs and where she wants to be in society. So I think it’s very relatable and especially emotions like love, betrayal, and redemption and they don’t go out of style. They transcend and part of human emotions over the centuries and nothing changes.”
