Following the massive failure of Acharya (2022), Telugu star Ram Charan is all set to make a grand comeback with director S Shankar’s Game Changer. Interestingly, this political action thriller marks Charan’s first movie in a lead role since he and his wife Upasana Kamineni Konidela were blessed with a baby girl, Klin Kaara Konidela, in 2023. While his admirers are excited for his big return, it seems that Charan’s fandom has now gained a new, little member who gets just as excited seeing him on screen as his ardent fans do.

Taking to social media recently, Upasana shared a heartwarming video showing baby Klin Kaara reacting to seeing her father on television for the first time. In the clip, Klin can be seen catching a glimpse of the new Netflix documentary RRR: Behind and Beyond, which offers a behind-the-scenes look at director SS Rajamouli’s epic film (2022) featuring NTR and Ram Charan. When Klin spots her naana (father) on the screen, she reacts with joy, yelling and waving affectionately. In her post, Upasana wrote, “RRR was truly an experience of a lifetime for us in countless ways. Watching her naana for the first time on TV.”

Also starring Kiara Advani, Anjali, Samuthirakani, SJ Suryah, Srikanth and Sunil in key roles, Game Changer is Shankar’s first Telugu directorial. Besides Charan, the film’s success is crucial for Shankar as well, since his previous directorial endeavour the Kamal Haasan-starrer Indian 2 (2024), had bombed at the box office. Game Changer is set to hit the screens on January 10.

Despite riding the high of RRR’s global success and sharing the screen with his father, Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan couldn’t ensure the success of Acharya and it performed very poorly at the box office, earning just Rs 73.5 crore globally against an estimated budget of Rs 140 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. Directed by Koratala Siva, Acharya also featured Pooja Hegde, Sonu Sood and Jisshu Sengupta in key roles.
