Samantha Ruth Prabhu looks ethereal in Shaakuntalam song Mallika Mallika; netizens call her ‘magic’

Shaakuntalam is based on the Sanskrit play Abhijnana Shakuntalam by Kalidasa. The film also stars Dev Mohan in the leading role of king Dushyant. The Gunasekhar directoral marks the acting debut of superstar Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha, who will play the role of Prince Bharat in the film. Samantha had recently heaped praise on the six-year-old Arha.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Samantha said, “She (Arha) is so adorable. She blew everyone’s mind on set. Firstly, she does not speak a word of English, she only speaks Telugu. She speaks Telugu better than most adults, so pure. She was absolutely brilliant. I remember the first day after which I tweeted that this is a superstar right here and she doesn’t even need her father. She is going to make it anyway because she is born to be a superstar.”

Shaakuntalam is set for a theatrical release on April 14. Post that, Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be seen in Amazon Prime Video series Citadel India, directed by Raj and DK. Samantha also has Kushi in the pipeline, with Vijay Deverakonda, which will release on September 1.
