Samantha Ruth Prabhu doesn’t want to ‘get into trouble’ for commenting about relationship with Naga Chaitanya
From her divorce with actor Naga Chaitanya to being diagnosed with an autoimmune condition, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has gone through a series of ups and downs in the last two years.

A lot has happened in Samantha Ruth Prabhu‘s life recently, but the actor doesn’t want to forget any particular memory — or, at least, she is no mood to reveal the truth. Samantha, who is on a promotional spree for her upcoming film Shaakuntalam, said that her life so far has only offered her lessons, and she wants to hold on to all of them.
In the last two years, the actor has gone through a series of ups and downs, personally and professionally. Last year, she was diagnosed with the autoimmune condition myositis. The diagnosis came a year after she split from actor Naga Chaitanya. The duo had gotten married in 2017. On the work front, the actor rose to pan-India fame in 2021 with her special dance number “Oo Antava” in Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa.
During an interview with Gulte.com, when quizzed if there is a memory she would want to forget, Samantha asked, “You mean from the relationship?” When the interviewer said she could pick from “anything”, the actor joked, “You are getting me into trouble!” Samantha then answered, “I don’t want to forget about anything because everything taught me something in life. So I wouldn’t want to forget, may be… Do I have to say it out aloud?! (laughs). No, I am not getting into trouble. I am not going to answer this question. I want to remember everything because everything taught me a lesson.”
Last year, Samantha had appeared on Karan Johar’s Koffee with Karan season seven and opened up about how she was trolled after separating from her ex-husband. “I couldn’t really complain about it because I chose that path. I chose to be transparent and I chose to reveal a lot of my life. And when the separation happened, I couldn’t be too upset about it because they invested in my life and it was my responsibility to have answers, which I didn’t at that point of time,” she had said, adding that that the phase was “hard” but she was now “stronger” than ever before.
Her next, Shaakuntalam, revolves around the love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant from Mahabharata, portrayed by Samantha and Dev Mohan. The film is based on the Sanskrit play Abhijnana Shakuntalam by Kalidasa. The film also marks the acting debut of Telugu star Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha, who will play the role of Prince Bharat in the film. The Gunasekhar directorial is set for a theatrical release on April 14.
The actor is currently shooting for Citadel. Helmed by director duo Raj and DK, the Indian version of Citadel is a spin-off of the original American series of the same name, which has Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles.
