Sai Dharam Tej announces 6-month hiatus from acting post release of Bro: ‘Will come back stronger’
Sai Dharam Tej said that he decided to take a break in order to return with complete physical fitness and deliver his best performances on-screen.

After the massive success of the horror thriller Virupaksha, actor Sai Dharam Tej is now gearing up for the fantasy comedy film Bro, in which the young thespian will be sharing the screen with his maternal uncle Pawan Kalyan.
Meanwhile, the Republic actor has announced a six-month hiatus from acting after the release of the Samuthirakani directorial, India Today reported. The actor told Telugu media that he decided to take a break in order to return with complete physical fitness and deliver his best performances on-screen. This move comes almost two years after Sai met with a bike accident in Hyderabad.
“There shouldn’t be any complaints from the audience. I want to give it my all for all my movies. I need to undergo a small surgery, and I will come back stronger. I will probably need around six months to recover completely,” he said.
In 2021, the actor, who belongs to the Konidela family, met with a bike accident and was in a coma for a long time. He was bedridden for months and though he escaped major head injuries, Sai reportedly suffered soft tissue injuries and a collarbone fracture.
A remake of Samuthirakani’s own Tamil film Vinodhaya Sitham (2021), Bro will hit cinemas on July 28, 2023. The movie also stars Priya Prakash Varrier, Ketika Sharma and Brahmanandam in pivotal roles.
Sai made his debut with the romantic action comedy Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham in 2014 and has appeared in blockbuster films like Chitralahari (2019) and Prati Roju Pandage both (2019), Solo Brathuke So Better (2020) and Republic (2021).
