Pushpa 2 The Rule worldwide box office collection day 22: The holiday season is proving to be a boon for the Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule, with the film continuing to draw in audiences and rake in the moolah. Despite being in its fourth week of release, the action drama is showing no signs of slowing down, with its earnings getting a significant boost from the Christmas and New Year celebrations. On day 22, according to industry tracking website Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 9.6 crore net, with its total domestic collection coming to Rs 1119.2.

The film’s occupancy rates are also a testament to its enduring popularity, with a Telugu occupancy of 23.27% and over 500 shows across India on Thursday. In Hindi, the film witnessed an occupancy of about 19.08% with over 3000 shows across the country. These impressive numbers have helped Pushpa 2: The Rule cross the Rs 1700 crore worldwide.

This makes Pushpa 2 the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024. The success of Pushpa 2: The Rule can be attributed to its engaging storyline, impressive performances, and the popularity of its lead stars, including Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil. Pushpa 2 will next overtake Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’s lifetime global haul to become the second-biggest Indian film of all time, behind Dangal.

In contrast, newly released films like Varun Dhawan’s Baby John and Vijay Sethupathi’s Viduthalai 2 are struggling to make a mark at the box office. Baby John, starring Varun Dhawan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Keerthy Suresh, has earned just Rs 4.5 crore on Thursday (early estimates), despite having over 4200 shows in Hindi across India. The film had opened to Rs 11.25 crore on Christmas, but its collections have been declining steadily since then. Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi’s Viduthalai 2 has earned a meager Rs 1.5 crore on Thursday, taking its total collection to Rs 31.95 crore in seven days.

The success of Pushpa 2: The Rule is a testament to the power of well-made films to draw in audiences and create a lasting impact. With the makers already teasing a third part of the movie, it will be interesting to see how the franchise continues to evolve and entertain audiences in the future.
