In addition to the standard 2D version, the highly anticipated movie will be available in 3D, IMAX, 4DX, D-Box and PVR ICE formats, offering a variety of viewing experiences. Pushpa 2: The Rule is slated for a worldwide release on December 5 (Thursday) and its pre-release business is already setting impressive benchmarks. It may be recalled that Pushpa: The Rise was released on December 17, 2021.

Pushpa 2 ranks among the most expensive films in Indian cinema. Running for 200.38 minutes, the film carries a UA 16+ certification (unrestricted public exhibition subject to parental guidance for children below the age of sixteen). Along with hype, Pushpa 2 ticket prices too have seen a significant increase. In Delhi, tickets for Pushpa 2 are being sold for as high as Rs 1,800. In Mumbai and Bengaluru, the most expensive tickets are being sold for Rs 1,600 and Rs 1,000, respectively.

In a related development, the Andhra Pradesh government has approved a ticket price hike for the film. On Tuesday, Allu Arjun took to social media to express gratitude for what he described as a “progressive decision.” According to India Today, permission has been granted to raise ticket prices for the premiere shows and the first 13 days of release. The premiere shows are set to take place on December 4 at 9.30 pm in select theatres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Tickets for these shows will be priced at Rs 944 (inclusive of GST) for both single screens and multiplexes. From the release day, tickets will cost Rs 324.50 for single screens and Rs 413 for multiplexes, as reported by the media outlet.

Pushpa 2 Movie Advance Booking Report

With less than two days remaining before its First Day First Show (FDFS), Pushpa 2 has already amassed over Rs 40 crore in the domestic market. By 2 pm on Tuesday, the film had earned Rs 40.06 crore in India, selling 13,03,822 tickets across 22,895 shows, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The Telugu 2D version accounted for Rs 19.45 crore, with 5,58,092 tickets sold across 4,466 shows, while the Hindi edition contributed Rs 13.44 crore from 4,69,667 tickets across 12,998 shows. The Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada versions added Rs 1.18 crore, Rs 92.70 lakh and Rs 4.84 lakh, respectively.

In a significant achievement, Pushpa 2 has become the fastest film to sell 1 million tickets on the BookMyShow platform, surpassing records set by Kalki 2898 AD, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and KGF: Chapter 2. Interestingly, director SS Rajamouli’s RRR (2022), featuring Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead roles, currently holds the record for the highest opening-day collection by an Indian film, with a worldwide gross of Rs 223 crore. Prior to release, the film had amassed Rs 58.73 crore in advance bookings in the country. Based on current trends, Pushpa 2 appears well-positioned to challenge RRR’s record.

Industry tracker Sacnilk has predicted that Pushpa 2 could become the first Indian film to achieve a Rs 300 crore worldwide gross on its opening day. The movie is expected to generate Rs 105 crore from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Rs 15 crore from Karnataka, Rs 10 crore from Tamil Nadu, Rs 8 crore from Kerala and Rs 87 crore from the rest of India, contributing to a domestic total of Rs 225 crore. If the film secures an additional Rs 75 crore from overseas markets as anticipated, its day-one collection is likely to exceed Rs 300 crore, making it the highest-grossing Indian film ever for an opening day.
