Prithviraj, Prashanth Neel list challenges of working with Prabhas in Salaar: ‘You can’t diet, had to book a hotel room to store food’
As part of Salaar's promotions, Prabhas, Prashanth Neel and Prithviraj Sukumaran recently engaged in a chat with Baahubali director SS Rajamouli, sharing insights into the project and fun anecdotes about each other.

Prashanth Neel’s Prabhas-starrer Salaar Part 1 – Ceasefire is set to go head-to-head with Rajkumar Hirani’s Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dunki in a massive showdown like never before. An epic actioner set in the fictional city of Khansaar, Salaar revolves around two friends, Deva (Prabhas) and Vardha (Prithviraj Sukumaran).
This marks the first collaboration between Neel and Prabhas, and according to actor Prithviraj, the film “can even dwarf KGF 2”. Hence, fans of both the ‘Rebel star’ and the KGF director are eagerly anticipating the film’s release on December 22.
Meanwhile, as part of the film’s promotional activities, Prabhas, Neel and Prithviraj recently engaged in a chat with Baahubali director SS Rajamouli, sharing insights into the project and fun anecdotes about each other.
During the interview, when Rajamouli asked the other two about the challenges of working with Prabhas, Prithviraj was quick to respond, stating, “you cannot diet!”
“One day, my family visited me on the sets of Salaar. I have a 9-year-old daughter. Upon seeing her, Prabhas asked what she likes to eat. Being a little girl, she rattled off about 20 different things,” Prithviraj recalled.
“You won’t believe this, but that night, I had to book an extra room to store the food he sent us, without even considering that there were only three of us, including my wife and child,” he added. “It is impossible to diet with him around. The irony is, he doesn’t eat that much. He has a small bowl in which he will have some rice and daal, and that’s it.” Prithviraj also mentioned that the Baahubali actor is extremely generous.
Responding to the same question, director Neel expressed that he had a hard time trusting Prabhas’ opinion when presenting ideas. This was because, he said, Prabhas tended to appreciate the majority of Neel’s concepts without unnecessary scrutiny, a new experience for the director.
“But, he questions the drama… He’s fantastic with drama, and that’s something I understood very quickly because when I narrated Salaar to him, he did not ask me about any particular scene but mentioned something that changed the texture of the movie,” Neel recalled.
“He suggested that the first scene and the last scene of Salaar Part Two be exactly the same. I was not prepared for him to tell me something like that,” he added.
