It looks like things are not going according to plan for Prabhas’ Project K. Earlier, the makers unveiled the release date of Project K with a poster that claimed that the film will hit screens on January 12, 2024. It was clear the makers were planning to bank on the Sankranti holidays. However, with Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan healing gradually from the injury he sustained on the sets of the movie, it might not be ready before the said date.
According to a report, a source close to the film unit has claimed that the makers don’t want to pressurise Big B and want to give him all the time he needs to recover. A source was quoted as saying, “It is still not clear how long it would take Bachchan saab to resume normal shooting, and the director (Nag Ashwin) and producers (Vyjayanthi Movies) are in no hurry. They are putting no pressure on Bachchan Saab to resume shooting. They will wait for as long as it takes. But it is unlikely now that Project K will make its January 2024 release date.”
Directed by Nag Ashwin of Mahanati fame, Project K is a dystopian film, which is made on a humongous budget. The behind-the-scene videos of the movie hinted that the makers are creating a new world from scratch for the action-thriller.
Meanwhile, Prabhas is gearing up for the release of his film Adipurush, which is based on the Hindu epic mythology Ramayana. The trailer of the movie was unveiled recently, which looked better than its teaser, which was panned for its subpar VFX. Adipurush will be released on June 16.
