National Film Awards: Allu Arjun accepts his first National Award, R Madhavan receives Best Film honour for Rocketry
Allu Arjun, SS Rajamouli, MM Keeravani and other members of South Film industries made their presence felt at the 69th National Film Award ceremony.

The recipients of 69th National Film Awards were honoured at New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan on Tuesday. Making a strong south presence felt were celebrities such as R Madhavan, SS Rajamouli, Allu Arjun, Devi Sri Prasad and many others.
Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, RRR and Pushpa: The Rise were the big winners at the prestigious award ceremony. The award holds a special place in the heart of Pushpa: The Rise actor Arjun, who has now become the first Telugu actor to win a Best Actor National Award. His film’s music composer Devi Sri Prasad has also won the National Award in the Best Music Director category.

SS Rajamouli’s film RRR, which brought home Academy Award earlier this year in the Best Original Song category, has won multiple National Awards. Besides winning the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment Award, RRR’s music composer MM Keeravani has won Best Music Direction award, Kaala Bhairava won Best Male Playback singer award, whereas Prem Rakshith won Best Choreography award. Best Special Effect and Best Stunt Choreography awards have also been bagged by RRR’s team. The film lyrics writer Chandrabose also won the National award but for his song Dham Dham Dham from the film Konda Polam.

From the Malayalam industry, Mepaddiyan director Vishnu Mohan won the Best Debut film Director award. The film Aavasavyuham won the award for Best Film on Environment Conservation/Preservation. Martin Prakkat’s directorial Nayattu won the Best Screenplay award. In the regional category, Home won the Best Malayalam film.
Representing the Tamil film industry, Kadaisi Vivasayi won the Best Tamil Film award, whereas Shreya Ghoshal won the Best Female Playback singer in the film Iravin Nizhal, whereas in Kannada, filmmaker Prem Rakshith’s heartwarming film Charlie 777 won the award for Best Kannada Film.

Celebrities from Bollywood were also seen at the venue of the prestigious award ceremony. Actors such as Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar and others were seen at the National Award ceremony.
