After Prabhas, Mohanlal comes on board Vishnu Manchu’s pan-Indian film Kannappa
Following Baahubali star Prabhas joining Kannappa, Vishnu Manchu recently announced the addition of another South Indian superstar to the film's ensemble cast and it's none other than Mohanlal.

As the concept of pan-Indian cinema is continually growing, the collaboration of technicians in various film industries for big-budget projects has become commonplace. Hence, what truly grabs headlines now is when powerhouse stars from various regions of the country unite for a film that promises to be nothing short of epic.
It is at a time like this that the cast list of actor-producer Vishnu Manchu’s action-adventure pan-India film Kannappa is expanding on an unprecedented scale. Following Baahubali star Prabhas joining the project, Manchu recently announced the addition of another South Indian superstar to the film’s ensemble cast and it’s none other than Malayalam’s Mohanlal. “Har Har Mahadev! ❤️,” Manchu noted while tweeting a photo of him with Mohanlal.
Helmed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, known for his work on the Mahabharat series on Star Plus, the film is said to be based on the true story of Kannappa, an unwavering devotee of Lord Shiva, who was also closely associated with Srikalahasteeswara Temple in Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh.
In addition to Manchu, Prabhas, and Mohanlal, the film also features Nayanthara and Mohan Babu in key roles. Bankrolled by Manchu’s father Mohan Babu himself, the film will be initially shot in Telugu and then dubbed into other South Indian languages as well as Hindi.
While Sheldon Chau will handle its cinematography, Kannappa’s editing will be carried out by Anthony. The film’s soundtrack will be composed by Mani Sharma and Stephen Devassy.
Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is now gearing up for two highly ambitious films — Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Malaikottai Vaaliban and Barroz: Guardian of Treasures, where he will be making his directorial debut. Prabhas, on the other hand, will be next seen in Prashanth Neel’s action thriller Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire.
