In the midst of pervasive rumours of his alleged estrangement from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and certain members of the Nandamuri and Nara families, NT Rama Rao Jr on Sunday arrived at NTR Ghat in Hyderabad to pay tributes to his late grandfather and former united Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), on the occasion of the latter’s 100th birth anniversary.

NT Rama Rao Jr, also known as Tarak or Jr NTR, was warmly welcomed by a massive crowd of fans who surrounded the Telugu superstar, creating a challenge for him to continue. Nonetheless, Tarak maintained his composure and patiently awaited the security team to disperse the crowd, walking with his head lowered.

Upon reaching the memorial area, Tarak was overcome with emotions and paid his respects by bowing down for a brief moment.

Earlier in the day, Tarak had shared a short and heartfelt tweet to commemorate the occasion. “Touch our hearts once more Grandpa 🙏🏻,” he wrote while sharing a picture of a young NTR.

The absence of Jr NTR at a recent TDP-organised function in Hyderabad, held as part of the centenary celebrations of NTR, had sparked rumours suggesting a potential disconnection between him and the party.

Tarak is currently working on Koratala Siva’s Devara, which also features Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor in pivotal roles. The first-look poster of the film which the makers released on May 19, on the occasion of Jr NTR’s birthday, had become an instantaneous social media sensation. Soon after, Bandla Ganesh, renowned film producer and the owner of Parameswara Art Productions claimed that he had previously registered the title Devara for himself, but the makers of NTR Jr film lifted it after he forgot to ‘renew’ his registration of the title.
