Before the teaser, the makers had shared songs from the film. The reports of the film first surfaced online in 2021 where rumours were rife that S Shankar and Ram Charan are all set to collaborate on a film together. In March 2023, the makers of the film officially announced the film’s title — Game Changer — on the occasion of the actor’s birthday. The film is reportedly made on a budget of over Rs 200 crore.

Game Changer witnessed multiple delays since its filming in 2021. In between, S Shankar focused on Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 while the RRR actor took a break from acting to promote his magnum opus RRR across the world. The film’s actress Kiara Advani also took a brief break for her marriage with Siddharth Malhotra in 2022. With no updates, there were speculations that the film has been shelved. S Shankar was also accused of prioritising Kamal Haasan’s film over Ram Charan’s film.

Now, Game Changer is all set to release in theatres on January 10, 2025. The film is touted to revolve around the life of an IAS officer who strives to combat corrupt politicians by advocating fair elections.

The film also stars actors SJ Suryah and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles.
