Daaku Maharaaj trailer: Nandamuri Balakrishna looks stylish and exudes swag in a promising action drama
Daaku Maharaaj trailer pits the formidable Balakrishna against the menacing Bobby Deol in a revenge saga that promises to be the quintessential Telugu cinema mass entertainer.

With just a week left for the release of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaaj, the makers have released the trailer of the action drama. Backed by Naga Vamsi, and directed by Bobby Kolli, the film features Pragya Jaiswal, Bobby Deol, Urvashi Rautela, and Shraddha Srinath in pivotal roles.
In the action-packed trailer, with thumping music by S Thaman, and stylish visuals from Vijay Kartik Kannan, we see a different avatar of Balakrishna, who is billed as the saviour of innocent people. The trailer begins with a short story narrated by a kid that elevates the titular character played by Balayya. We first see Balakrishna in the now-famous turban and kurta attire that people are already raving about. We also see the present-day portions where Balakrishna as Nanaji has a few tricks up his sleeve.
The trailer sets the right amount of intrigue about the dual roles of Nandamuri Balakrishna in Daaku Maharaaj, and interestingly, Pragya Jaiswal, who previously co-starred with Balayya in Akhanda, also has an important role in the film. Shraddha Srinath too seems to have an interesting role, but we know very little about it from the trailer. And, the menacing Bobby Deol enters with a lot of swag in the trailer, and promises to be a tough foe for Balakrishna, who ends the trailer with a visual of a headless body framed to highlight the stature of the star.
Here’s the trailer:
A definite highlight about Daaku Maharaaj is the visuals of the movie, which promise to be the perfect mix of style and richness. Another facet of the trailer is how we see a lot of striking scenes, but the trailer does the right job of piquing our interest, and not revealing a lot about the plot. The film promises some high-octane action sequences, the right dose of sentiment, the usual elements of humour, and a story that spans a couple of timelines, and features Balakrishna as the messiah who frees people from oppression. Will the movie hold up to the promise?
Daaku Maharaaj is set to hit screens on January 12 on the occasion of Sankranthi, and will clash at the box-office with the likes of Ram Charan’s Game Changer, and Venkatesh’s Sanrantiki Vasthunaam.
