The golden light always falls on megastar Amitabh Bachchan. On the screen icon’s birthday, the makers of his upcoming mythological-sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD unveiled a poster of the 81-year-old actor from the film.

The first look poster of Bachchan teases his character to be a sage, standing upright in what looks like a cave– with sunshine falling right on top of him. The megastar is seen sporting a heavily bearded look, with only his eyes visible in the poster.

The multi-lingual sci-fi film, which was earlier called Project K, has been directed by Nag Ashwin. The film also stars Prabhas, Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles.

According to Hindu mythology, Kalki is supposed to be the final incarnation of Vishnu, who is yet to appear. At the end of the present age, also called Kalyug or Kali yuga, when dharma has completely disappeared and the world is ruled by oppressors, Kalki will come to the earth to end the oppression and start a new age.

Kalki 2898 AD, produced by C Aswani Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies, also stars Disha Patani. It is likely to hit screens next year.
