(Credit: Instagram/@alluarvindonline, @alluarjunonline)Telugu star Allu Arjun has found himself embroiled in a fresh controversy after the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) pulled him and his family up over an alleged illegal construction in Telangana’s capital city. Issuing a show-cause notice for carrying out an illegal extension on the Allu Business Park building at Road No 45 in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, the civic body’s Circle-18 authorities reportedly sought the owners’ response to why the structure should not be torn down.
Constructed about two years ago, the Allu Business Park houses the production and distribution company Geetha Arts, Allu Arts-related businesses, and offices of other companies. Located on a 1,226 square yard plot in the heart of the city, the structure was initially approved for construction with two cellars and G+4 floors. However, India Today reported that an illegal extension was recently carried out on the fourth floor. Upon learning, the officials ordered an inquiry and issued a show-cause notice. GHMC has demanded a proper reply from the owners explaining why they shouldn’t act on the matter and demolish the allegedly illegal structure. Allu Arjun and his family have yet to respond to this notice.
One of the strongest film families in the Telugu industry, the first Allu to enter show business was Arjun’s paternal grandfather Allu Ramalingaiah, who went on to become a legendary character actor and appeared in over 1,000 films. While his only son, Aravind, entered the film industry as a producer and established Geetha Arts, one of Ramalingaiah’s daughters, Surekha, married Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi, thereby marking the union of two of the biggest khandans in the industry. Aravind and his wife, Nirmala, have two children, Allu Arjun and Allu Sirish, while Chiranjeevi and Surekha have one son, Ram Charan, making the younger stars cousins.
Following the global success of director Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, which emerged as the third-highest-grossing Indian film of all time, Allu Arjun is currently working on a project with Jawan director Atlee Kumar. Launched under the working title AA22XA6, the highly anticipated movie features Bollywood star Deepika Padukone as the female lead.
