It is as rare as a hen’s teeth to find an actor in the Indian film industry concede defeat. Most often the box office numbers are exaggerated and film units are quick to celebrate the success, making it hard to discern the true performance of the movie at the box office. In such an industry, it is laudable that Akhil Akkineni has come forward to acknowledge that his latest release Agent has failed at the box office. He shared a note on Twitter claiming that the film’s team failed to deliver a good film.

He wrote, “While we tried our best, the film, unfortunately, didn’t translate the way we wished it would on the screen and we could not deliver a good film for you. A special thanks to my producer Anil garu, who was my biggest support system. Thank you to the distributors who believed in our film and the media who supported us immensely. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will come back stronger for those who believe in me.”

Akhil Akkineni, the younger son of Telugu star Nagarjuna, made his silver screen debut as a child artist in the film Sisindri (1995). He then made a cameo appearance in Manam, which was produced by the Akkineni family. However, his debut as a hero happened in the year 2015 with the fantasy film Akhil, which bombed at the box office. His subsequent films Hello and Mr Majnu also faced a similar fate. The only redeeming film in his career was Most Eligible Bachelor, which performed decently at the box office. However, with Agent, Akhil is back to square one.
