Sudhanshu Pandey's sudden departure from the television show Anupamaa has left his fans shocked, and in a recent interview, the actor said that a lot of his fans are observing fasts to ensure his return. Addressing rumours of rift between him and the show's lead star, Rupali Ganguly, Sudhanshu said that they are still talking to each other and following one another on social media. Sudhanshu announced his departure via social media, and told India Today, "I felt it was my responsibility to inform my audience about my decision. I was very calm and direct, just sharing my thoughts." The actor said that he was receiving a "sea of messages from people" asking him to reconsider his decision. "Fans are even willing to observe vrats (fasts) to bring me back. I always knew the show was popular, but this kind of love is just amazing," he said. When asked about his rumoured rift with his co-star Rupali, Sudhanshu said that he has not unfollowed her on social media. "Rather than asking me, people should check my Instagram page. I have not unfollowed anyone. In fact, Rupali just shared something with me on WhatsApp. Why would I do anything like that? It’s not like we’re teenagers who broke up. We are mature professionals. I don’t know if it has happened from the other side, but I find this very childish. It doesn't reflect well on our personalities," he said. Where do these rumours come from? I don’t understand. Iska koi wajood nahi hota hai (there is no substance to it). Indulging in these discussions is like wasting your time. There is absolutely no point in even giving attention to such rumours." Sudhanshu played Anupamaa's husband on the show and had been a part of the show since its inception 2020.
