Shiv Thakare says he ‘gets too much importance’ after Bigg Boss 16: ‘It’s a temporary phase’
Shiv Thakare looks back at his journey after Bigg Boss 16 and how he's made to feel like a star. The actor also opens up about his next stint in Khatron Ke Khiladi 13.

“There’s excitement, nervousness, and everything packed in together. This is going to be such a different experience,” exclaimed Shiv Thakare, talking about Khatron Ke Khiladi 13. The Bigg Boss Marathi 2 winner and runner-up of Bigg Boss 16 is one of the contestants on the Rohit Shetty show. Speaking to indianexpress.com, Shiv added that while KKK is a show for many or a means to earn big, it’s a ‘dream come true’ for him.
Shiv, who gained immense popularity after BB16, said that while many expected him to ‘change’ or ‘throw attitude’, it’s been a normal phase for him. The actor added that while there are times when he falters at being in touch with people or attending parties and events, he makes an effort to not offend anyone.
Talking about how everyone else around him has changed, Shiv Thakare said, “Itna bhav mil raha hai. Bohot mazaa aata hai (I get so much importance, it’s too much fun).” Referring to being invited to Farah Khan’s party, the actor-dancer shared how he couldn’t believe when his childhood heroes came up to him asking for selfies. He shared how he felt like a star among the biggest of Bollywood personalities.

However, he is cautioned that the love and popularity is because of his last work and it might soon fizzle out. “There are very few out there who love Shiv as a human. They love me for what they saw in Bigg Boss. They will love me for KKK or whatever I do next. It’s all a temporary phase. However, I have to be honest about my work, and do it well every time. For even if the popularity comes via work, it should never cease. That’s how things work,” he added.
Shiv Thakare also discussed how he doesn’t want to be known only as a ‘reality star’. Having been part of non-fiction shows back-to-back tends to bring that tag. The actor shared, “It has happened in the past and it will happen again, but I will make sure I break out from that tag. I am in discussion for a few films, and once I am back, I will do something big. That’s my promise to my fans.”

Fans of Bigg Boss 16 often show displeasure at how the mandali did not stick together after the show. Along with Shiv, winner MC Stan, Abdu Rozik, Sumbul Touqeer, Sajid Khan and Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia were besties in the house. However, recently, they haven’t been interacting much and there were even rumours of a fall-out. Dismissing the same, Shiv said that they do meet and are often in touch with each other but have no photos to show to the world. “Just like normal friends, we take out time from our schedules to meet each other. But we don’t post photos every time. I think people should realise this and let us just be.”
On a final note, Shiv confessed that he’s scared about Khatron Ke Khiladi and the stunts that he will perform. “My first question to the team was nothing will happen to me na? When they assured me about the security I said yes. I know it’s going to be tough but I will perform as it is my last stunt and give my best,” he concluded.
Khatron Ke Khiladi 13 also has Dais Shah, Rohit Bose Roy, Anjum Fakih, Arjit Taneja, Anjali Anand, Ruhi Chaturvedi, Soundous Moufakir, Sheezan Khan, Aishwarya Sharma, Rashmeet Kaur, Dino James, Nyrra Banerjee and Archana Gautam as contestants.
