‘Moohboli wife’ didn’t know TV actor husband had another wife, grown-up child, lived under a different identity: ‘He was taking money from…’

In the age before social media, it wasn’t as easy to dig up dirt on someone so when someone suspected their partner of having an affair, they would actually go to the extent of hiring a private detective to confirm their suspicions. But even though a lot of our lives are now open for consumption via social media platforms, some people, especially celebrities, only share a curated version of their life, and what goes on behind closed doors stays hidden. It was this mystery that led to the collapse of a years-long relationship of a popular TV couple. In a recent interview, private detective Tanya Puri shared the story of a popular male television actor who had a wife and a child in a different city, and maintained a different identity in that small town. She shared that after his partner, who was also a popular female star on TV, got to know about it, she left him instantly as she had a lot at stake then.

In a chat with Siddharth Kannan, she shared that the female actor “suspected that the man was having an affair with someone.” When she approached the detective agency, the matter was investigated and it was found that “he had been married before, had a child and a wife in a different city. He was a popular TV actor back in the 90s and he had worked in a very popular series also. The wife had no idea about it.” The female actor hired their services only because she felt that the man was starting to behave in a very detached fashion. “He had a wife and a grown up child in a different city. He would visit them regularly. He was supporting them financially and in fact, he was taking money from his current wife to do all of this,” she revealed.

The man had not divorced his first wife, and with his current partner, he hadn’t registered the marriage. “The second one wasn’t technically a wife but they had made promises to each other in a temple that we will live together. They had said in public that we don’t believe in the institution of marriage. They were together for really long. And they were together as a married couple,” she shared.

When asked if the man’s first wife knew about his affair in Mumbai, Tanya revealed that she was fully aware of his antics. “She was a very humble teacher in a school from a very humble background. They lived in a very small town. People there didn’t even know that he was a TV actor. He was using a different name in this town,” she revealed.

As the host wondered what the “moohboli wife” (the current partner) did after she found out, Tanya shared that she left him immediately. “She had a lot at stake in public. If she had continued to live with him, she would have to face a lot of humiliation. She left him for her own self respect,” she shared.
