A major fire broke out on the set of TV show Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin in Film City, Mumbai on Friday. The fire on the set of the Star Plus show, produced by Cockrow and Shaika Entertainment, has caused major damage. While there hasn’t been an update on any fatality, sources say that a few people were injured.

A source told indianexpress.com that a fire sequence was being shot on the set. Due to an alleged lapse in safety, the fire spread destroying the set.

“The fire happened at around 4:30 pm and in no time spread across the set. While the actors and crew were quickly rescued, the property has been completely damaged. The firefighters arrived but till then the fire had spread all around. We haven’t yet heard about any tragic news and praying that nothing happens,” the source said.

The source added that the Municipal Corporation and the Film City Authorities have already slapped a notice on the producers and director of the show for negligence leading to the fire. “They will also have to pay a hefty penalty.”

A spokesperson from Cockrow and Shaika Entertainment said, “A fire engulfed the sets of Ghum Hain Kisikey Pyaar Mein this afternoon. All our employees, artistes, contractors and other partners who were present on site are safe. We are working to determine the cause of the incident and the extent of damage and while our immediate priority is the health and safety of everyone who was on the sets, we will also work towards ensuring that we provide continuity in entertainment to our viewers.”
