Dipika Kakar wants to quit acting: ‘I want to live as a housewife and mother’

Actor Dipika Kakar, who is expecting her first child, has expressed her desire to quit acting.

Mom-to-be and television actor Dipika Kakar in a recent interview revealed that she told her husband-actor Shoaib Ibrahim that she wants to quit acting.

In an interview with First India Telly, Dipika said, “I am enjoying this phase of pregnancy and welcoming our first child. The excitement is on another level. I started working at a very young age and continued for about 10–15 years at a stretch. As my pregnancy journey began, I told Shoaib that I don’t want to work and want to quit acting. I want to live as a housewife and mother.”

Shoaib Ibrahim too hinted in the interview that he too might take a break after the birth of their child. Shoaib is currently busy with the TV drama Ajooni.

In January this year, Dipika and Shoaib announced their pregnancy through social media posts. The Sasural Simar Ka actor is in her third trimester of pregnancy. Dipika was last seen in Star Plus’ Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum in 2020 and has stayed away from television since then.

Dipika Kakar made her small-screen debut in 2010 with the show, Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi. Dipika met her husband Shoaib on the sets of her popular show Sasural Simar Ka.
