Daboo Malik questions if son Amaal Mallik really has a girlfriend, wonders why he isn’t leaving Bigg Boss: ‘He has created a lover in third dimension’

He added, “I have been targeted for my upbringing. As a father, I am being doubted, wrong things are being told to me, and I am listening to everything. You cannot stop anyone. When I saw the first few episodes, I was shocked because the narrative was going in a different direction. I was excited that Amaal would get popular, sing songs. But I think a psychological bubble gets created around you in the house, you start behaving in a particular way, and maybe you don’t have any control.”

Daboo Malik even reflected on Amaal Mallika’s decision to do Bigg Boss Season 19 and if he sees his son win the title. Daboo said, “It’s scary. I should have done some research before he signed the show. We had a different idea in our minds; we wanted to achieve things by the book. We thought there would be an exposure, but what has happened is very outlandish. At this particular stage, I think Amaal has already done what he is supposed to do. He has shown whatever he had to. He has been called two-faced, slammed, so I don’t want anything. He has already won for me.”

On Amaal Mallik’s secret girlfriend

On Bigg Boss 19, Amaal Mallik revealed that he is currently seeing someone. The music composer shared that although they met only briefly before the show, he hopes to build a future with her. However, his father Daboo Malik says that Amaal’s lady love might be fictional. Talking about his secret girlfriend, Daboo shared, “It is an invisible love story, I am going to write a script on that. There was a man who created a lover in a third dimension, and he is loving her there. That’s all I know. We have not met the person. However, it was my dream to see him develop a love story on the show.”

On Amaal’s health issues and childhood struggles

Over the past few weeks, Amaal Mallik has not been keeping well. Reports last week suggested that he might have to exit the show on medical grounds. Talking about his health issues, Daboo said, “Amaal is facing health issues, which is why we thought he would be out in 2-3 weeks; he wouldn’t continue. But he is still in the game. When he is getting so much hate and dislike, I don’t understand who is stopping him. They say Salman Khan and the channel are siding with him, but I don’t have an answer to that. People are criticizing him. I accept the hatred, but then why are you stopping him. Do something so that he is not kept on the show any longer.”

Daboo also opened up about the struggles Amaal faced as a teenager. He said, “He has faced a lot. At the age of 10, he had decoded that my father works very hard and is trying a lot of things, but nothing was going right. We used to get very sad a lot of times, but behind my smile, he caught the pain. He really reads my mind even if I am far away. When a father breaks in front of his child and says he cannot do it anymore, he was just 15 or 16 then. Usually, fathers are like I want to do everything for you, but here it was reversed. The next day, when I woke up, he had gone for a meeting with Kailash Surendernath; he was there the whole day. For the first time, that boy had taken his keyboard and laptop and gone away. At 11 pm, Kailashji called me and said my kid is talented. He had finalized four jingles with him. After that, he has been constantly sending me photos of cheques to date. We are very close as father and son.”

Daboo Malik further recalled Amaal’s latest meltdown when he severed ties with his family. “When that heartbreak happened for him, where he said he was leaving his family, is when I started understanding his story about what is in his mind. Then I started delving into his psyche and understanding that we got disconnected somewhere. We think when the child is mature, it’s all hunky dory, but we don’t realize what they are going through. He is a child who faced a lot.”

On Amaal’s latest song

Talking about Amaal Mallik’s latest single “Kyun Mujhse Door Tha”, Daboo Malik said, “We were working on this song for a long time, and its release was planned long before Bigg Boss. When he got locked in Bigg Boss 19, he took a promise from me. We knew that Amaal is not that kind of character who would survive in the show for very long. So he had said that by chance if he survives on the show for a longer time, then I should release his latest song. It’s released by my label, MWM.”

On a parting note, Daboo revealed that after Bigg Boss 19, Amaal will emerge as the biggest rockstar in the country. He even said that they are planning to release his music album called Love and Hate.
