Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is set to make a comeback on Indian television in 2026. Over a career spanning more than three and a half decades, Akshay has also made a significant mark on the small screen. He made his television debut as a host in 2004 with Seven Deadly Arts with Akshay Kumar and went on to explore the reality-show space with several high-profile projects. The actor hosted Khatron Ke Khiladi across multiple seasons, in 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2019, and served as a judge on MasterChef India Season 1 in 2010. His most recent television appearance was as host of India’s Ultimate Warrior in 2022. After a four-year break from television, Akshay is now set to return as the host of Sony TV’s Wheel of Fortune.

The show’s first promo was unveiled on Sony TV’s social media handles on Saturday night, and it suggests that Wheel of Fortune will be a game show in which participants can win exciting prizes by solving word puzzles,.

Reacting to the promo, a fan pointed out how X how Wheel of Fortune is an old show returning to TV after 30 years. Another fan commented, “Akshay, with ‘har ek akshar’ now holding such weight, one can only hope the ‘jaadu ka chakkar’ is guided by the wisdom of that venerable figure in the thumbnail, and not just the usual prize budget.” Another comment read, “He reminded me of Akshay Kumar from Housefull 2.” “His comic side will work well on a show like this,” said another user.

On the film front, Akshay Kumar has had a dull year at the box office. While Kesari Chapter 2 managed a decent run, films such as Kannappa, Housefull 5, Sky Force, and Jolly LLB 3 failed to make a strong impact. Looking ahead, Akshay has several projects in the pipeline, including Bhoot Bangla, Haiwaan, Welcome to the Jungle, and Hera Pheri 3.
