Television actor Vishal Aditya Singh of Chand Jalne Laga fame has expressed his dissatisfaction with the television industry’s reliance on outdated saas-bahu dramas and cringeworthy content that fails to evolve with the times. He criticised writers for deviating from meaningful storytelling and said that it is very disappointing for actors and audiences alike.

In an interview with Dramas and Dreams TV, Vishal said, Kuch bhi dikhate hai. Aap sarkari job ka dikhao na? Sarkari jobs ke naam pe IPS dikhaenge aur ek episode ke baad woh phir chula chaukha chai kar rahi hoti hai. Pagal ho kya. Kuch bhi.” (They show anything. Why not show a government job? They show someone as an IPS officer in the name of government jobs, and after one episode, she’s back to making tea and snacks. Are they crazy?)

The actor explained, “There are a lot of things, I mean, you name it. We have to change it for the audience and the biggest thing, you know, there are very few talented people. I think I’m speaking from the heart.”

Vishal also cited another outdated plot and said, “Some will say ‘I am born to play music and I’ll make my family proud, but when she doesn’t recite hymns at home in the morning, there will be chaos. Her job was to become the voice of India, she was going to become a singing sensation. It is disappointing.”
