Vijay Sethupathi: ‘Pawan Kalyan is a mass hero not just in films but in real life too’

“He has proven that he is not just a mass hero in films but also as a person. It is all because of consistency. I asked people what the fuss is all about and they said what he has actually achieved. Despite all the trolling, he has made it,” the actor added.

Vijay Sethupathi also answered a controversial question during the press meet about heroes working with younger heroines. A reporter asked about stars who are paired opposite actresses, who once played sister and daughter to them. Sethupathi said, “I have spoken about it already. I acted with Krithi Shetty in Uppenna in 2021, and later, a director told me let’s approach her for another film as a heroine. I said no because I had asked her to consider me as a dad during the climax sequence of Uppenna. So, I said no.”

He added, “What if she had told me that she doesn’t want to act with me because ‘this man has asked me to consider him as dad’. She can say no also. I have answered this question earlier. Please leave it.”

Vijay Sethupathi also paid tribute to Ramoji Rao, who passed away recently. The actor recalled the times when he acted in Pudhupettai during his formative years in Ramoji Film City. “He built everything here. From slum set to farm, everything. He has done a huge service to cinema,” Sethupathi said.
