Vijay movie Leo to have show at 4 am? Tamil Nadu government makes position clear
The Tamil Nadu government had recently granted permission to Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Thalapathy' Vijay-starrer Leo to hold one extra show for the first six days.

With just six days left for the highly anticipated release of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay-starrer Leo, fans are eagerly anticipating confirmation on the possibility of early morning screenings.
However, dashing their hopes, the Tamil Nadu government has issued a fresh Government Order (GO) clarifying that the first screening of the film will commence only at 9 am in the state.
The state government had, on Wednesday, granted permission to the film’s team to hold one extra show of Leo for the first six days. According to that GO, instead of four regular shows, theatres were allowed to run five shows from October 19 to 24.
As per the existing norms, theatres in Tamil Nadu are allowed to hold four shows a day. With the special permission, theatres can hold one additional show. Though the makers had requested permission for 4 am and 7 am shows for Leo, the earlier GO didn’t mention the timing of the special show.

Making its position clear on the matter, the government announced that Team Leo can hold its first show at 9 am on October 19. “All theatres can screen only one special show, the opening show will start at 9 am and the last show will end at 1.30 am,” the GO signed by P Amudha, principal secretary to the government, noted.
Mentioning that the government made the decision after thorough consideration, Tamil Nadu Information and Publicity Minister MP Saminathan on Thursday recalled the special permission granted for Kamal Haasan-starrer Vikram and highlighted that the team of Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer did not approach the government for special shows. He made these references to underscore that political differences did not influence the Leo decision. “Vijay may or may not enter politics, that is all speculation. There is no need for the government to block his film, Leo,” the DMK minister was quoted as saying by News Nine.
In response to the controversy sparked by the profanity used by Vijay in the trailer of Leo, the minister noted that the issue would be examined by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), as reported by News Nine.
According to Ahimsa Entertainment, which is distributing the Vijay-starrer in the UK, a record number of tickets for the first day have been sold in the UK. In a tweet, Ahimsa Entertainment claimed, “We’ve just rewritten the history books! #LEO’s Day 1 UK box office now stands as the ALL TIME RECORD for any Indian film. A roaring applause for Thalapathy Vijay!”
