After Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan issued an apology for his derogatory comments towards Trisha Krishnan, she took to social media to share her final word. Taking to X (formerly called twitter) Trisha wrote, “To err is human, to forgive is divine🙏🏻.”

A few days ago, actor Mansoor Ali Khan had spoken about his last film Leo where he starred with Trisha. At the press meet, he had expressed his regret about not getting to do any scenes with Trisha. “When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought I would carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes and it’s not new to me. But these guys didn’t even show Trisha to me on the sets during the shoot in Kashmir,” he said.

His comments led to much outrage on social media and Mansoor was booked under Sections 354 A (sexual harassment) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code. He refused to apologise and issued a threat to Nadigar Sangam. “What is a rape scene in cinema? Does it involve real harassment? Shouldn’t all those Mutta *** (Tamil expletive) at Nadigar Sangam know at least such basic things. Are all those sitting there are Thiyaga Sigamanigal (noble beings)?” he said.

He issued an apology on Friday in a convoluted statement. “I have won the bloodless war that was going on for the past week. Heartfelt thanks to all the leaders, actors, and media personnel who supported me. My salutes to all those who condemned me… Police officers said Trisha was hurt by what I said, ‘Aiyooo, I too felt bad,’ I told them.” he wrote. The statement then discussed matters that had nothing to do with his statement about Trisha. Towards the end of the statement, Mansoor Ali Khan apologised to Trisha. He wrote, “My co-star Trisha please forgive me. Hope the god blesses me with the opportunity to wish you when you enter the wedlock…”

Leo starred Vijay in the lead role, and was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
