‘Thalapathy’ Vijay constructed Sai Baba temple for mother Shoba: report

In line with this, on February 2 this year, Vijay announced his decision to join politics and informed the people that he and his fans’ club have decided to name the party, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK).
Meanwhile, a photo of the actor recently went viral on social media, wherein he was seen posing with a group of priests at a Sai Baba temple, sparking curiosity about its location and timing.
Now, a new report has emerged making some startling revelations about the temple’s ownership. According to Times Now, the temple was constructed by none other than Vijay himself for his mother Shoba, a devoted follower of Sai Baba. The report further mentions that the temple is located on a piece of land owned by the actor in Korattur, situated in the western part of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The temple happened sometime in February this year and that the viral photo was clicked during his visit back then and not recently.
Born to filmmaker-producer SA Chandrasekhar and director-playback singer Shoba, Vijay’s family embraces diverse religious backgrounds, with his parents having an inter-faith marriage — Chandrasekhar is from a Catholic Christian family and Shoba is a Hindu.
“Contesting the 2026 assembly elections and winning them to provide the political change the people of the state aspire to is our goal. After receiving recognition from the Election Commission, after the Lok Sabha election is over, our journey presenting our party ideology, principle, party flag, and symbol and our plans for the growth of the state of Tamil Nadu will begin,” he said in a statement issued announcing his entry into politics.
On the work front, Vijay is currently working on director Venkat Prabhu’s The Greatest of All Time, which is reported to be a sci-fi actioner. The film also stars Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, and Laila in key roles. Vijay was last seen in the action thriller Leo, helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
