Dulquer Salmaan-starrer Kaantha, whose release was postponed to accommodate the blockbuster run of the actor’s production venture Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra, is finally hitting theatres on November 14. Ahead of the release, Dulquer shared the Kaantha trailer announcement video on his social media accounts. The trailer will be unveiled on November 6.

The trailer announcement video opens with a voice-over asking, “I just have one doubt, what in the world is going on?” as the board Modern Studios hangs on the gate of the studio where the story unfolds. It then cuts to Dulquer’s matinee-idol character Chandran basking in fame. Dulquer’s Chandran is then seen speaking to someone off-camera: “I will make this movie, you just watch it from the corner.” The video finally cuts to Samuthirakani, who plays Dulquer’s father in the film, declaring to his superstar son, “I’m going to kill you.”

The promo then showcases the various personal conflicts and professional challenges that Dulquer’s Chandran faces, brought on by his family and those around him.

Kaantha also stars Bhagyashri Borse and Rana Daggubati in pivotal roles. The film is reportedly inspired by the life of Tamil cinema’s first superstar, M K Thyagaraja Bhagavathar. Speaking about the project, Dulquer told Variety, “I heard the story of ‘Kaantha’ in 2019 and fell in love instantly. It truly is a labour of love and one of the most special films in my career. The process of partnering with newer creative talent and Rana as a producer has been a really fulfilling experience.”
