Ajith Kumar’s cute message to wife Shalini wins hearts: ‘Shalu… thanks for letting me race’

It was a weekend of heightened emotions for Ajith Kumar fans as the actor announced that he would properly balance his acting and racing careers, and work his movie commitments around the racing calendar. They were also witness to Ajith being involved in a freakish car crash, which he escaped unhurt. And then, the Dubai 24H race became all about Ajith and his team as fans descended in the arena to celebrate their matinee idol. And, in return, his team secured third place in the 991 category, and received the Spirit of the Race recognition in the GT4 category. Photos and videos from the circuit started becoming viral on social media as it offered a rare glimpse into the unfiltered side of Ajith, who rarely appears in public or even gives interviews. One such video was Ajith’s speech in front of his team and family after the win. After thanking all his teammates and support staff, a sheepish Ajith looked at his wife Shalini, and said, “And Shalu… Thank you for letting me race,” and followed it up with a heartfelt flying kiss to the love of his life.

Actor Rajinikanth took to social media to congratulate Ajith, and said, “Congratulations my dear Ajith Kumar. You made it. God bless. Love you.”

Actor-politician Kamal Haasan also shared his happiness about the monumental win, and said, “Extraordinary achievement by Team #AjithKumarRacing in their maiden race! Thrilled for my friend Ajith, who continues to push boundaries in his diverse passions. A proud and seminal moment for Indian motorsports.”

Some of the notable wishes came from the likes of former Tamil Nadu CM Edapadi K Palaniswami, and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, who wrote, “I am thrilled to hear that Ajith Kumar sir and his team have secured third place in the 991 category at the 24H Dubai 2025. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Ajith Kumar sir and his team for this remarkable achievement. I thank Ajith Kumar Racing for displaying our Dravidian Model Government’s Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu’s logo in this prestigious racing event. I wish Ajith sir continued success in bringing even more glory to our nation and Tamil Nadu.”

Many actors including Sivakarthikeyan, Madhavan, Prasanna, Naga Chaitanya, composers Yuvan Shankar Raja, Anirudh Ravichander and Santhosh Narayanan, directors Nelson Dilipkumar, Karthik Subbaraj, and Lokesh Kanagaraj joined the bandwagon to wish Ajith on his racing achievements.

On the acting front, Ajith’s Vidaamuyarchi is expected to hit the screens later this month, and Good Bad Ugly is scheduled for an April 10 release.
