Superstar Rajinikanth, who is currently basking in the success of his latest release Coolie, completed 50 years in the film industry on Thursday. On the occasion, the veteran actor released a statement, thanking political leaders, colleagues, and fans.

Rajinikanth’s statement read, “My heartfelt thanks go to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K Palaniswami, BJP leader Nainar Nagendiran, my friend Annamalai, madam Sasikala, Dhinakaran, madam Premalatha, and to other friends in politics who complimented me on my 50-year journey in the film industry.” Rajinikanth also took the opportunity to thank his colleagues, including Kamal Haasan, Ilaiyaraaja, Mammootty, and Mohanlal. However, the most heartfelt part of his statement was dedicated to his fans, as he wrote: “I also express my heartfelt thanks to my fans, who are the gods who keep me alive.”

Rajinikanth’s daughter, Soundarya, also shared her excitement about her father’s milestone, writing: “50 years, Appa. You haven’t just been part of cinema … you’ve shaped it, redefined it, elevated it, and carried it into places it had never been before. You’ve inspired generations, set benchmarks, and become the heartbeat of the industry.”

She added: “I’m a proud daughter, and I love you more than I can ever say. The last 10 minutes flashback of Coolie — I’ll watch again and again, and keep cheering every single time. You’re the best, Appa. The one and only. Thalaivar Nirandharam.”
