Thalaivar 170 promises to be an exciting treat for fans as it brings together two legendary actors, Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, on the big screen after a hiatus of 33 years. Lyca Productions, the production company behind the highly anticipated project, recently announced the completion of the Mumbai schedule of the film through a Twitter post.

Their tweet read, “When Superstar and Shahenshah met on the sets of #Thalaivar170 🤩 Reunion on screens after 33 years! 🤗 #Thalaivar170 is gonna be double dose of legends! 💥 @rajinikanth @SrBachchan Done with MUMBAI Schedule 📍📽️✨ @tjgnan @LycaProductions #Subaskaran @gkmtamilkumaran #Thalaivar170Team.”

Earlier, Rajinikanth took to social media to express his joy at collaborating with Amitabh Bachchan once again after more than three decades. He wrote, “After 33 years, I am working again with my mentor, the phenomenon, Shri Amitabh Bachchan in the upcoming Lyca’s Thalaivar 170, directed by T.J Gnanavel. My heart is brimming with joy!”

These two stalwarts of Indian cinema previously shared the screen in iconic films like Hum, Andhaa Kaanoon and Geraftaar. Their last collaboration, Hum, was released in 1991. Now, after 33 years, the two legends have come together once more for Thalaivar 170. The film is directed by TJ Gnanavel, renowned for his work in Jai Bhim.

In addition to Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, the film boasts an ensemble cast with renowned names from the Malayalam film industry, including Manju Warrier and Fahadh Faasil. Telugu star Rana Daggubati plays a pivotal role, while Ritika Singh and Dushara Vijayan are among the other actors in the movie. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and it is expected to hit the big screens in mid-2024.
