As per the industry tracker Sacnilk, the Aishwarya Rai Bachchan-starrer earned Rs 11 crore across India (early estimates) on Tuesday. With this, the total domestic collection of PS 2 currently stands at Rs 114.75 cr. Internationally, too, the film has been receiving a good response from the audience. Sharing its performance in the US market, Lyca Productions wrote on Twitter, “Over 3.5 million $ grossed in the first weekend! Thank you for the love! #PS2 makes its mark at number 8 at the US weekend box office!” The worldwide collection of the film has already passed the Rs 200 cr mark.

Ponniyin Selvan 2 is the second instalment in Mani Ratnam’s two-part series based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s epic novel of the same name. The first film also broke several box office records and registered a worldwide collection of Rs 500 cr. However, it had a better run at the box office on its fifth day, as it earned Rs 27.5 cr.
