Nagarjuna recalls Rajnikanth helping him with Tamil dialogues during the shooting of Coolie: ‘His charisma and aura were just really great’
At a promotional event for Coolie in Mumbai, Nagarjuna and Shruti Haasan shared their experiences of working alongside 'Superstar' Rajinikanth.

Coolie is all set to hit the screens on August 14, and the excitement is at an all-time high. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film boasts a powerhouse cast including Rajinikanth, Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Upendra, and Shruti Haasan in pivotal roles. At a promotional event in Mumbai, Nagarjuna and Shruti Haasan shared their experiences of working alongside Rajinikanth on the project.
Nagarjuna, who plays a shady crime boss ‘Simone’ in Coolie, said, “The experience of working with Rajnikanth sir has been nothing short of fantastic. Rajni sir’s guidance on set, his charisma, and aura were all just really great.” The details of Nagarjuna’s role have been kept under wraps by the team, but the trailer suggests that he might be one of the main villains taking on ‘Deva’ played by Rajinikanth. The actor added, “Rajini sir helped with the Tamil dialogues and really guided me. It was really nice of him. Even though I played a negative character in the film, my takeaway has been very positive in making this film.”
Nagarjuna was not the only one who had good things to say about ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth. The female lead of the film, Shruthi Haasan, also present at the event, added, “I unconditionally love my Appa (Kamal Haasan). But I am also a Rajini sir fan.”
Coolie is set against the backdrop of a bustling shipping harbor and follows an ex-coolie who returns to dismantle a gold smuggling ring. The film is releasing nationwide in multiple languages and, according to the latest reports, is poised to shatter existing box office records. Trade tracker Sacnilk reports that Coolie has already raked in over Rs 20 crore in advance bookings at the domestic box office.
