Taking full responsibility for the alleged mismanagement of AR Rahman's Marakkuma Nenjam concert at East Coast Road in Chennai on Sunday, the organisers, ACTC Events, tendered an unconditional apology to all those who faced hardships. Posting a selfie video on Instagram, Hemanth Raja, the founder and CEO of ACTC Events, expressed his apologies to all those who couldn't attend the concert, despite spending huge sums on the tickets. "Our goal was to guarantee an unforgettable night of Rahman sir's songs for his fans. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, many couldn't access the venue. We accept full responsibility for this and are accountable," he stated. Lauding the Oscar-winning composer for his commitment to delivering a memorable concert, Raja clarified that Rahman had no involvement in the event's organisational aspects. He also expressed disappointment that people are singling the composer out on social media platforms. He further urged, "Please refrain from holding him accountable; we are solely responsible for this." Asserting that they didn't oversell tickets, Hemanth Raja said that the situation arose due to ticket duplication and overcrowding. He also noted that they had obtained all necessary approvals from the authorities concerned. Those who couldn't attend on overcrowding, Our sincere apologies. We take full responsibility and accountable. According to reports, the organisers failed to correctly direct the ticket holders through the entry points. Many fans, who had spent substantial sums on tickets, were unable to access the venue due to the excessive crowd size, sparking suspicions of ticket overselling. In addition, numerous women who attended the event alleged instances of harassment and molestation.
