Madharaasi worldwide box office collection day 5: Sivakarthikeyan-starrer has been struggling at the box office and is yet to match upto his previous film Amaran.

Madharaasi worldwide box office collection day 5: It won’t be much of a stretch to say that the Sivakarthikeyan starrer Madharaasi has been struggling at the box office, despite opening with some favorable reviews. The film, promoted as a comeback of sorts for A R Murugadoss after a rut of underperforming outings, has earned a total Indian net collection of 41.30 crores from India in its first four days of release, as per Sacnilk. Madharaasi earned Rs. 13.65 on its first day, followed by figures of Rs. 12.10 crores and Rs. 10.65 crores on its first weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The film earned just a total of Rs 3.15 crore on its first Tuesday, its fifth day of release, dropping from its Rs 4.15 crore collection the previous day on Monday.
Madharaasi registered an overall occupancy of 22.65 % in its fifth day of release on Tuesday. The morning shows marked an occupancy of 17.69 %, followed by a rise in occupancy to 22.87 % in the afternoon shows. The evening and night shows for the film maintained the momentum with 22.68 % and 27.32 %, respectively, as per Sachnilk.

Sivakarthikeyan’s first major hit Amaran, his previous film, opened miles ahead of Madharaasi in its opening week and maintained the steady collections over a longer period of time. According to Sacnilk, Amaran took in a total of Rs 10.15 crores on its fifth day in the country, taking its collection to a whopping Rs 155 crore figure on the global market on the fifth day, with a total India collection of Rs 107.30 crores. Whereas Madharaasi has raked in Rs 44.65 crores in the domestic market.
Madharaasi written and directed by A R Murugadoss, is an action film featuring a hero with a peculiar medical condition, who is used as a pawn in a game of one-upmanship between the NIA and a gun smuggling network. The film also features Rukmini Vasanth, Biju Menona and Vidyut Jamwal in the lead roles. Sudeep Elamon handles the cinematography for the film, while Anirduh Ravichandar composed the songs and original score.
