Kamal Haasan, Shankar announce Indian 2 on Bigg Boss Tamil

Shankar made a brief appearance along with Tollywood filmmaker Dil Raju at the grand finale of Bigg Boss Tamil on Saturday to announce a very important news for the fans of South Indian cinema. Dil Raju said he will be helming Indian 2 with Kamal Haasan in the lead role

Ace filmmaker Shankar made a brief appearance along with Tollywood filmmaker Dil Raju at the grand finale of Bigg Boss Tamil on Saturday to announce a very important news for the fans of South Indian cinema. Shankar said he will be helming Indian 2 with Kamal Haasan in the lead role, which will be produced under Dil Raju’s home production banner Sri Venkateswara Creations.

“I always want to do sequels after finishing every film. But, things don’t fall in place. About three years ago, I got an idea for Indian 2 and at the same, time I got busy with my other projects. Last two years we had been working on a theme and I was determined to make that into a film. I thought it will be my next film after 2.0 and I’m happy that Indian 2 is happening,” Shankar said while talking from the Bigg Boss Tamil stage.

Shankar is currently busy in the post-production of 2.0, which is a sequel to his 2010 blockbuster sci-fi film Enthiran. The upcoming mega-budget film that is being produced on a budget of Rs 450 crore.

Kamal also said he was very happy about announcing the project at such an event. “We here have a bunch of celebrities (Bigg Boss ex-contestants). And more than six core people are watching this show on television. I have never been part of such a big film launch,” said the 62-years-old actor.

Indian follows a 70-year-old freedom fighter’s mission against corruption. Kamal had played a double role of father and son; a freedom fighter-turned-vigilante and a prudent transport official who doesn’t mind giving or taking bribes.
