Alfonso Cuarón, known for directing films such as Roma, Gravity and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, enjoyed his time with Kamal Haasan, AR Rahman and others during his visit to Chennai.

Legendary actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan shared photos from his recent meeting with Alfonso Cuarón, a Mexican director who has won three Golden Globes and five Academy Awards. Cuarón, known for directing films such as Roma, Gravity and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban among others, enjoyed his time with Haasan, AR Rahman, Mani Ratnam and others during his visit to Chennai. Actor Siddharth and his fiance Aditi Rao Hydari were also present at the meeting.

Over a sumptuous lunch, the guests savoured the flavours of the season, with ripe mangoes and actor Siddharth quipped, “Alfonso meets Banganapalli.” Sharing multiple pictures from their meet-up, Haasan wrote in the caption, “Met Mr Alfonso Cuarón my brethren and an offspring from the same mother ‘cinema’. We spoke cinema, cinema and more cinema.”

He continued, “I shared my joy over lunch along with the seasons mangoes and some of my fraternity Mr Maniratnam, Mr A.R.Rahman, Mr Ravi K Chandran, Mr Mahendran, Mr Narayanan, Ms Aditi Rao Hydari, Mr Siddharth and Ms Amritha. ‘Alfonso meets Banganapalli,’ quipped Mr Siddharth.”

Cinematographer Ravi K Chandran also shared pictures and wrote, “Thanks @ikamalhaasan for this great opportunity to meet & have an insightful fun conversation with this Oscar winner.. director/cinematographer The maestro @alfonsocuaron blessed.”

Haasan was last seen in the 2022 movie Vikram. His next project is Indian 2, the sequel to his 1996 hit Indian, where he played Veerasekaran Senapathy. Directed by S Shankar, Indian 2 is set to hit theatres in June 2024 and features Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh and Kajal Aggarwal.
