Japan trailer: Karthi is an unconventional thief in Raju Murugan’s crime comedy

The visual asset of Japan showcases what’s in store: Karthi leading the pack and seemingly having a blast while at it, as he punches, kicks and flies to finish his wonderfully choreographed action moves.

Karthi took to X (formerly Twittter) to share the trailer and wrote, “Honoured and grateful for the immense love all of you showered on me yesterday. Heartfelt gratitude and thanks to all my friends and colleagues who graced the event last evening. My sincerest love to all the dear fans who are always close to my heart.”

Directed by Raju Murugan, the film’s music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar. Japan also stars Anu Emmanuel, Sunil, Vijay Milton among others. The trailer, however, doesn’t offer much to Anu, who is shown in song visuals and in scenes where the man seems to still be the central focus.

The film is gearing to release theatrically during Diwali next month. This will be Karthi’s second release of the year after Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 2.
